Grutter v. Bollinger decision establishes the right to consider race in college admissions.

Supreme Court allows a limited consideration of race in college admissions decisions. In the case involving the University of Michigan Law School, the court says such a policy can further “a compelling interest in obtaining the educational benefits that flow from a diverse student body.”
